Privacy Policy
Last updated September 28, 2026
This policy explains what Hyre Automotive Intelligence ("Hyre", "we", "us") collects when you use hyreauto.app, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it short and plain on purpose.
What we collect
- •Account details: your email address, and your name if you sign in with Google.
- •Vehicles you add: year, make, model, trim, mileage, and optionally a nickname, color, and VIN.
- •Your cases: the symptoms you describe, clues you select, OBD-II codes, any photos you upload (Pro), the evidence you add later, and the results Sherlock produces.
- •Community content: posts, photos, comments, and likes, shown with your first name and last initial.
- •Billing: payments are handled by Stripe. We receive your Stripe customer and subscription IDs and your plan status. We never see or store your full card number.
- •Guest trials: if you try Hyre without an account, we store a random ID in your browser and a one-way hash of your IP address to limit free trials. We never store your raw IP address.
- •Usage: basic records of which pages and features are used, so we can keep the service running and improve it.
How we use it
- •To run diagnoses, save your case files and garage, and show them back to you.
- •To manage your plan, enforce free-plan limits, and process payments.
- •To prevent abuse, such as repeated guest trials or spam in the Community.
- •To answer support requests and improve Hyre.
We do not sell your personal information, and we don't use it for targeted advertising.
AI processing
To produce a diagnosis, your vehicle details, symptoms, clues, codes, and photos are sent to the AI model providers that power Hyre, through our hosting platform, and the AI may search the web for information about your vehicle. Please don't include personal details like your name, address, or license plate in your description or photos.
Who we share it with
- •Base44, which hosts the app, its database, and sign-in.
- •The AI model providers that generate diagnoses.
- •Stripe, which processes payments.
- •Google, if you choose to sign in with Google.
- •Amazon: parts links go to Amazon. Once you click through, Amazon's own privacy policy and cookies apply. As an Amazon Associate, Hyre earns from qualifying purchases.
- •Everyone, for Community posts: anything you post in the Community is public, along with your first name and last initial.
- •Authorities, when the law requires it or to protect people's safety.
Cookies and browser storage
Hyre uses your browser's storage to keep you signed in and to remember a guest trial. We don't use advertising cookies. Amazon and Stripe may set their own cookies when you visit their pages.
How long we keep it
We keep your account, garage, and case files while your account is open. Guest trial records are kept only as long as needed to limit trials. Payment records may be kept longer where tax or accounting rules require it.
Your choices
- •You can remove vehicles from your Garage and delete your own Community posts at any time.
- •You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete your account and everything in it. Email us and we'll respond within 30 days.
- •You can cancel a subscription any time from your Account page.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights under your state's law. Email us to use them; we won't treat you differently for doing so.
Children
Hyre isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
Security
Your case files and garage are private to your account. We use our hosting provider's access controls and encryption in transit, but no service can guarantee perfect security.
